Wheel of Names

The Wheel of Names is the most visually satisfying way to pick a random name from a list. Unlike a plain random picker that just outputs a text result, the spinning wheel creates a moment of suspense — everyone watching can see the wheel slowing down, narrowing toward a winner. That shared anticipation is exactly why teachers, streamers, and event hosts prefer it over a simple random draw.

How to use it: Type names in the input box and press Enter or the + button to add them. Each name gets a uniquely colored slice. Press Spin — the wheel accelerates then decelerates realistically. The orange pointer on the right marks the winning slice when the wheel stops. A winner dialog appears with the person's name, their slice color, and two options: remove them and spin again, or simply close.

Bulk import lets you paste a comma, semicolon, or newline-separated list of names at once — paste your class roster, team list, or raffle entries and the wheel populates instantly. Duplicates are filtered out automatically.

Remove & Spin Again in the winner dialog removes that person from the wheel so they can't win twice — essential for raffles, prize draws, and any scenario where you're picking multiple unique winners from the same pool. The spin history panel tracks every result so you know who's already been picked.

Common uses: Randomly calling on students in class. Picking a team captain. Assigning roles in a game. Running a live giveaway on stream. Deciding who goes first. Spinning for the "question of the day" participant. The wheel works for any group from 2 to 100+ names — the slice labels scale to fit. Nothing is uploaded to any server; all data stays in your browser session.
