Raw text rarely comes in the exact format you need. You paste content from a PDF and end up with trailing spaces on every line. Someone sends you a list and half the entries are duplicates. A scrape returns data with inconsistent indentation. The Text Formatter exists to fix all of that without you touching a single keyboard shortcut.

The tool bundles 14 common text transformations into one place. Click once, done. No scripting, no regex hunting, no frustration.

Whitespace cleanup is probably the most-used feature. "Trim Whitespace" removes leading and trailing space from the whole block, while "Trim Each Line" handles per-line cleanup — perfect when you've pasted a bulleted list and each line has leftover indent. "Remove Extra Spaces" collapses multiple spaces between words into one.

Line operations are a close second. Remove blank lines to tighten up lists and paragraphs. Remove duplicate lines is invaluable when deduplicating email lists, keywords, or extracted data. Sort ascending or descending to alphabetize a list in seconds.

Add line numbers is great for creating numbered lists from plain text. Remove line numbers does the reverse — takes a numbered list and strips the numbers, leaving clean plain text. Join Lines combines multiple lines into a single paragraph, which helps when you need to paste multi-line content into a field that doesn't accept line breaks.

Tab and space conversion matters most for developers copying code between editors with different indent settings. Remove Punctuation and Remove Digits are handy for data cleaning when you're preparing text for analysis or normalization.
