Random Pokémon Generator

This Pokémon generator picks randomly from 70 of the most iconic Pokémon across all 9 generations — starter Pokémon, fan favorites, box legendaries, and everything in between. Each result shows the National Pokédex number, name, type, and generation so you get full context with every pick.

Filters make it genuinely useful. Filter by type (Fire, Water, Grass, Dragon, Ghost, Fairy, and more) to get picks that fit a specific team theme or challenge run. Filter by generation to restrict results to a specific era — maybe you only want to work with Gen 1 Kanto Pokémon, or you want to specifically explore the newer Gen 9 Paldea picks like Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.

The list selection: Rather than including all 1,000+ Pokémon (which would make meaningful filtering harder), we've included 70 carefully chosen Pokémon that represent each generation's highlights — the three starters per gen, major legendaries, and the most beloved fan-favorite Pokémon from each era. Gengar, Lucario, Gardevoir, Mimikyu, Greninja — the ones people actually know and care about.
