Dropped your phone in water? Got caught in the rain? Even brief water exposure can muffle or distort your speaker for hours if the water doesn't fully evaporate. This tool plays a specially designed cleaning sound that causes your speaker driver to vibrate rapidly, physically expelling water droplets from the grille — the same technique built into Apple Watch's Water Lock feature.
Why does sound eject water? A speaker driver works by vibrating a membrane at high speed. Playing a low-frequency tone at maximum volume forces that membrane to vibrate with enough energy to shake water loose and push it out through the speaker grille. The effect is strongest when the speaker is pointed downward, letting gravity assist.
The sound loops continuously until you press Stop, giving you full control over the duration. Most users run 3–4 sessions of 20–30 seconds each. Between sessions, gently pat the speaker grille with a dry cloth to remove any water that has been ejected.
